We are very
pleased to
announce
that
Whirlpool
Canada is
the
Home Sponsor
of the build
at #5
Johnston
Street. The
company has
donated
$100,000
towards
construction
of the home
and
approximately
100
employees
will spend
time on the
build site
during July
and August.
This is the
second
Habitat home
in Guelph to
be sponsored
by Whirlpool
Canada and
the third in
Canada. In
2007, the
company
sponsored
the build at
27 Morris
Street,
Guelph and
over 100
employees
helped out
on the build
site. In
2008,
Whirlpool
Canada
sponsored a
Habitat home
built in
Halton
Region.
Whirlpool
Canada is a
longstanding
donor of
appliances
for Habitat
for Humanity
builds
across the
country,
donating a
Whirlpool®
Refrigerator
and Range to
every new
Habitat
home.
Whirlpool
Corporation
is also a
strategic
partner of
Habitat for
Humanity,
participating
in builds
globally
since 1999.
#3 Johnston
Street
This build
is the first
in which we
have
partnered
with a
multi-faith
group.
Through a
project
spearheaded
by St.
Andrew’s
Presbyterian
Church and
known as
My
Neighbour’s
House,
#3 Johnston
Street will
be built in
partnership
with a group
of churches
and other
faith groups
who will
raise funds
and provide
volunteers
needed for
this build.
Habitat will
select the
homeowner
family,
design and
organize the
construction
of the home,
and schedule
the
volunteers.br />
